ELIZABETH J. LOPEZ, MSn, np-c
Welcome to my professional portfolio. Here you will find information regarding my education and experience.
Recently certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, I obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. This is the second degree I have earned at UTMB. I graduated from UTMB in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation I worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UTMB until Hurricane Ike hit. After the closing of the UTMB Children’s Hospital, I transferred to the Labor and Delivery unit where I worked for almost 5 years. During my time in Labor and Delivery, in addition to performing as a low and high risk Labor and Delivery nurse I was also cross trained in Antepartum, Postpartum, Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Triage, Pediatrics and the Neonatal Nursery. For the past year, I broadened my experience working as a PRN float Registered Nurse at Mainland Medical Center in the areas of Medical/Surgical, Geriatric Psychiatry and Rehabilitation. Currently, I work as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient psychiatry clinic. Graduating with a Master’s degree and becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner allows me to pursue my passion of providing continuous care to patients and assisting them in achieving their healthcare goals.
